Serving the Community

April 14, local police and law enforcement are serving the community: literally.

Local law enforcement officers will trade in their handcuffs for serving trays in a fundraising event for Special Olympics Nevada. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Claim Jumper in Town Square, members of the DPS Nevada Highway Patrol, Henderson Marshal’s, Clark County School District Police and Northern DPS Highway Patrol will be working side by side with waiters earning ‘tips’ for the organization.

During the evening’s fundraising event, 100 percent of all the law enforcement’s “tips” that are made will be donated to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Nevada, making it possible for nearly 4,000 Nevada athletes to participate in 11 different Olympic-type sports.
